Ann Tenno was born in Tartu, Estonia and graduated Tartu University as theoretical mathematician in the area of algebra. After graduating she worked as a young scientist in Tartu University and as a lecturer of higher mathematics in Technical Institute of Tallinn. She has also worked as a photographer in the Institute of Cultural Heritage in Tallinn. Since 1987 she has been a freelancer and self-employed photographer, publishing and designing her own books. From 2002-2004 she established the magazine “Aed” (“Garden”) and worked there as chief editor, designer and photographer.
