Worshipped Non-existents
2025
"Worshipped Non-existents" invites the viewer to immerse themselves in Joonas R. Parve's unique world,
where mythology, surrealism, and human psychology intertwine. Parve's creative journey began as an actor,
but his passion for storytelling has remained central in his visual art as well.
His works are dialogues with the past – with archaic symbols and narratives, which the artist interprets
through a personal and subconscious lens.
The result is new mythologies that reflect the inner layers and existential quests of contemporary humans.
At the heart of the exhibition are graphic works and ceramic sculptures that tell stories of entities
and beings that may seem fictional or forgotten, but carry a deeper meaning.
The ceramic works, many of which were created at the Kohila wood-firing symposium,
reflect the artist's dedication to the material, craftsmanship, and technical depth.
"Worshipped Non-existents" is a poetic reflection on how ancient symbols and myths can help us understand
our contemporary experience – and open a door to an unknown, yet recognizable world within us.s ipsum suspendisse ultrices gravida.
