Liis Tedre "Infinity" 2024
Infinity is a property characterized by boundlessness. Infinity typically refers to something that has no spatial or temporal limits. Historically, the concept of infinity has been more of a philosophical concept, while in modern times it is a mathematical symbol,
though physically unprovable. The idea of infinity can be mind-boggling.
It is difficult to comprehend that everything around us can be divided infinitely, and conversely, can grow infinitely.
The mathematical concept surpasses the physical. To better understand life, philosophical interpretations without
boundaries and practical systems of agreed-upon limitations in everyday functioning are helpful.
Tedre's artworks, created using the toned cyanotype technique, invite viewers to ponder the playful order of the world,
suggesting that various aspects of life are like pieces on a chessboard. Wooden installations express security
and the importance of frames, offering a natural and conservative tonality. In contrast to limitations and agreements,
the colorful cyanotype and relief printing technique present ideas of freedom and creativity.
Tedre uses bright colors and symbols of abundance to express infinity's playful and liberating essence.
